Trying to go to Nursing School in California
Posted On 02/07/2012 14:00:34 by colleen
p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }a:link { } I want to go back to school and obtain a nursing license.
I went to the State Licensing website to start my research. The first thing I did is eliminate all of the schools not in the Sacramento area. Then I eliminated all of the Community Colleges (due to the lottery entrance system for their nursing programs).
So I was left with 4 private schools and 3 adult education programs for the LVN program.
The prices I was able to... Read More

Posted On 12/26/2011 19:48:25 by GrapevineTravelAdventures
Jutting out into warm sky blue waters, Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula divides the Gulf of Mexico from the Caribbean Sea.  Once was the home of a great Mayan civilization,  Mayan ruins abound.  High on a cliff looming over the sea sits Tulum, one of the most compact and intact ruins around.   While visiting Tulum on a shore excursion from a Carnival cruise, we had the great fortune to have a tour guide of Mayan descent.  In addition to the knowledge passed from one... Posted On 09/28/2011 08:40:01 by An-American-Taxpayer
I was watching the TV Show Cops & Coyotes on cable TV today.

An interesting fact that was presented on the show is that the Quest Cable Company cable tv installer provided the Police in Arizona information on the CCTV that was installed in one of the homes that was to be raided.  This makes me wonder if the police have a formal agreement with the cable & satellite TV companies & installers in the Sacramento Valley to act a police informers.... High Country Pack Trip
Posted On 08/21/2011 21:57:18 by GrapevineTravelAdventures
Imagine riding a horse through snow on a warm sunny day in August.  This may sound like an impossible contradiction, but I did just that on a high country pack trip with Icicle Outfitters & Guides of Washington State.

Icicle Outfitters offers everything from day rides near Leavenworth and at Lake Wenatchee State Park, to drop camps where they pack in gear for hikers or hunters, to full service pack trips.  In the winter they even have sleigh rides.

Resurrection of a Ship, Birth of a Company
Posted On 07/11/2011 00:51:17 by GrapevineTravelAdventures
One small ship cruise line goes under.  Most people would have seen their ships as fodder for the scrap yard.  Dan Blanchard of American Safari Cruises saw them as the means to start a new company.  With the complete overhaul of two ships formerly of Glacier Bay, InnerSea Discoverieswas born, a small-ship cruise line with a taste for adventure and exploration of wild places.   The first time I saw the Wilderness Discoverer she sat high and dry in a shipyard in Seattle. Planning a Vacation to Australia
Posted On 05/29/2011 19:57:41 by GrapevineTravelAdventures
Before heading across the ocean for a vacation to Australia, many questions need answers.  Start with the flight.  What matters most, price, length of the journey, or stops along the way? Research flights to find the one best suited.  If price matters most, the cheapest flights often stop several times and take well over 20 hours from start to finish.  The most direct flights may take as little as 14 – 16 hours, but could cost quite a lot.
When plans include s... Read More

I was dismayed to find that I could not apply for any of their positions without first providing my Social Security Number.
So Safe will know not only my age,  but be able to run a credit check on me,  an employee who review the applic... Read More

Two Countries, One Island: Saint Martin/Sint Maarten
Posted On 03/06/2011 05:12:19 by GrapevineTravelAdventures
Sint Maarten/Saint Martin, two names for one rather small island.  This now peaceful Caribbean island has a long and bloody history. Violence began long before the day Columbus first sighted the island in 1493 on November 11, the holy day of Saint Martin of Tours.  He claimed the island for Spain, naming it Isla de San Martin.  Throughout history, the island changed hands many times between Spain, France, Holland, Britain and...
