America is in a Financial Crisis,  the number of homeless families is growing,  the number of families who receive food stamps are growing,  the number of children receiving free school lunches is growing,  the number of families with out health insurance is growing.

Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) announced the award of $127.5 million dollars in Stimulus Money for the purchase and installation of smart electric meters.
I have no problem with the award to SMUD or updating the electric grid,  I do however have a problem with SMUD teaming up with Landis+Gyr of Switzerland for this project.
