A sensible approach to California Budget and Education Problems

As California Residents we are aware of the Budget Mess and how our education system is failing because of these budget issues.

California has 58 Counties, yet California has 100's of School Districts.  Each of these School Districts repeat over and over the same Administrative Functions such as District Superintendent,  District Human Resources,  District Payroll,  District Food Services,

Let's break this down further,  the small farming town of Wheatland California has approx. 3,000 residents.  Yet Wheatland has 2 School Districts, the first School District consists of 3 Schools which are noted below, the second School District consists of only a single high school.

A further waste of our tax money can be seen in that Los Angeles County alone has 100 School Districts,  this number does not include the ROP Districts,  Community College Districts or Public Universities.

If we were to reduce the number of School Districts to one per county, think of the money savings that would result just from duplication of administrative functions.

Further cost savings would result in the selling off duplicate School District Administrative buildings and other items that are duplicated over and over again.

Even more cost savings would result if the County ROP programs were rolled into the County School District instead of acting as a separate district.

Do not let the Politicians and School Districts tell you that this would a monster size task, because it would not be.  It would only be a monster size task if this were to happen during the school year.  If this to be planned out correctly and carried out at the end of the school year this process would be easy.

The School District Superintendents do not want this to happen because they do not want to lose their fat jobs as Superintendents paying a salary of over $150,000.00 per year.

Using just Los Angeles County as an example, if we combined the 100 School Districts into a single School District 99 School District Superintendent positions would be eliminated at $150,000.00 per year each in salary this would be a cost savings of $14,850,000.00 in savings each and every year.  This almost 15 million dollars per year in savings is from only one duplicated position in one county.
