Placer County Monument to Japanese Soldiers
OFFLINE

I am outraged by the actions of Placer County.

"Placer County officials and members of the Japanese American Citizens League unveiled the first phase of a monument to honor the Placer County soldiers who fought in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team".

I want to know where the monument to the US soldiers who were captured,  tortured and killed by the Japanese Army is ?

The Japanese Government has never issued a hartfelt appology for the torture to American POW's.

The Japanese Government has never returned the money or property stolen fromAmerican POW's.

If any taxpayer money went into building this monument ?  My family wants ours returned as we had family members who were POW's held by the Japanese who were tortured, and had all their money taken.  These family members to their dying day (which was not long because of the torture) tried and tried to have their money and property returned.

The large Japanese Corporations you see today were funded and rebuilt with money stolen from the POW's

I think the Placer County officials who approved this project should be not only be ashamed but also fired.

I think the 2 Placer County officials (listed below) who appreared at the deducation should also be ashamed.
Assistant District Attorney Scott Owens
Tim Arndt, senior project manager for Placer County's Parks division

The brave soldiers that fought in the  442nd Regimental Combat Team were, and are U.S. citizens. They fought for your freedom and mine. There is no justifiable reason for not honoring them. If you feel they should not be honored because they are Japanese American citizens, then I must suggest that you have a rather unappealing racist viewpoint. I too had a family member that was imprisoned by the Japanese during WWII. The brave soldiers of the 442nd were not his captors, nor did they torture him. That was done by the Japanese Army. Open your eyes and get over your racist view Mensa Member.

Kudos to Placer County for honoring local heroes.

For your reference Mensa Member, The WW II Memorial is located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
