Before I read this article, I thought that hostage taking was only something done to Americans. Not true. Check this out.

Read about all of the Bin Ladin royals being held against their will by the Iranian Government. Now, I can see more of the connection between Iran and the Afghanistan war.

I believe in the biblical saying "The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him."Ezekiel 18:20

With this in mind, wouldn't brokering a deal with the Taliban to place the Royal family as heads of State in Afghanistan and allow them to govern be wiser than using them as leverage? Corruption will less likely exist with them than with the current government. The Royal family has money. They have no need for drug dealers money.

By assisting them, a deal may be brokered for the surrender of Osama Bin Ladin to the Saudi Government for trial. It may be surrendering some American ideal of justice but, Machiavelli would say that "to come to an agreement that produces peace and desired results without the loss of life is the greatest achievement".

What will Iran do without Hostages? Isn't it like capturing the Queen in chess? Hostages is what the Iranian Fundamentalists bank on to have all there leverage. If something happens to the Royal Bin Ladin family, do you think the Taliban will seek revenge? How many enemies will Iran have that are neighbors and Infidel westerners?

Syria, Saudi Arabia, and Amnesty International have requested the release of the Royals. Why would Iran refuse?
