When it comes to ethics, you are correct when you say that we can learn from government practices. There is little if any oversight into the government handling of our money. On more than one occasion I have had someone say, "It isn't your money, so don't worry about it!" But it is my money! In fact it is everyone's money that we are talking about. We have many watchdog agencies, but it is hard sometimes to filter out extreme groups from actual watchdogs.
I think that it would be refreshing to see a President that used the watchdogs list of abuses as a tool for correcting improper spending and unethical conduct. I have been watching Glenn Beck. He makes a lot of sense. I don't agree with his entire philosophy but, I did learn something from the lists of earmarks he read off and the cost to the tax payers. I would like to see the Watchdogs get credit for finding the abuses and the current President actually stop the abuse in its tracks!
Anyone know how to reach President Obama?
