Vernon City Leadership Salaries  

These amounts are subject to change and adjustment over time, particularly as selections are made for 

individuals to fill interim positions.  We will make an effort to ensure that this information is kept 

updated.  

City Administrator (interim)/Fire Chief:  salary - $210,647.40  

(base salary $16,599 per month; additional 2.5% for holding a fire science certificate; additional 

2.5% for holding a fire science degree; haz mat pay of $125 per month) 

Police Chief (interim):  salary - $196,488 

 (base salary $15,477 per month; additional 6% for holding a POST Advanced Certificate) 

Director of Community Services and Water:  salary - $220,128 

Director of Health & Environmental Control:  salary - $193,440 

Director of Business Services and Purchasing/Director of Personnel:  salary - $147,528 

(base salary of $6,147 per month for Director of Business Services and Purchasing; base salary of 

$6,147 for Director of Personnel) 

Director of Light and Power/Director of Natural Gas Municipal Utility (interim):  salary - $173,364 

(base salary $12,039 per month; additional longevity pay of 20%) 

Director of Light and Power Capital Projects:  salary - $339,996   

City Clerk/Risk Manager/Senior Deputy City Attorney:  salary - $233,700 

Director of Finance/City Treasurer:  salary - $339,996 

City Council members: salary - $68,052  

** In addition, all City employees who drive a car and provide proof of insurance to the City are eligible 

to receive $35.00 per month as an auto benefit.
