As the holiday season begins to go into full swing this November, the Sacramento area will be lucky enough to play host to some great events that celebrate both culture and entertainment. The Origins of Sacramento Food and Cultural Walking Tour will highlight both the East and Sutter District portions of the city. The east and Sutter District are both known for their innate ability mixing Sacramento apartments, restaurants, retail stores and businesses with the culture of the city.
The walking tour will highlight a way to celebrate the city's culture with great sightseeing, talking and eating. The tour itself will take place throughout the fall every weekend until the end of December. The tour highlights some of the numerous Sacramento dishes from multiple area restaurants. In the process of visiting different food establishments, the tour will focus on conveying the rich cultural history of the Sacramento area, including the strong tie to culinary work over time.
Taking place over about three and a half hours and two miles, the tour will include sightseeing of different area landmarks, churches and architecture in some of the Sacramento area's most historic places. Along the two mile track, a visit to some of the area's great and diverse restaurants will come naturally. The tour will include culinary options from countries like Turkey, Spain, China and Czechoslovakia.
The restaurant tours will include the chance to be up close and personal with many of the different chefs who prepare some of Sacramento's best food. For a sense of intimacy for each walking tour, the groups are limited to 16 people per trip, allowing for good conversation and ease of access with guides and different chefs for questions.
The experience will begin on Capitol Avenue and is run by the Local Roots Food Tour group. Admission and ticket prices for the weekly walking tour run between $48 and $58 per person. Both of the areas that will make up the tour have a rich culture in both historic and culinary terms. In some areas, dishes have dated back to some of the early immigrants in the Sacramento area. For an event that serves to mix both great food and culture, The Origins of Sacramento Food and Cultural Walking Tour will provide attendees an excellent time in the last two months of 2011.
