OK, So I moved to a more rural area that has no cable internet nor does it have DSL through our phone lines. So that means I was forced to get satellite for my internet and my TV.
HughesNet offered me the best "Deal". They told me that they are not affected by rain, snow, fog, wind or even presidential gas passing (OK- I made up the last one there). They also tell me that it is not as fast as cable high speed but pretty darn close.
So they install and with-in two days I have no internet. I call them and the lady tells me that I should "Upgrade" to a better, more costly, package and then it should not happen again!
Now, I know im a donkey but, I feel like im over a barrel with my shorts a bit low so I agree to upgrade.
Boom, she pushes a few buttons and my internet works again - AMAZING! So now a week or so passes and my internet is soooooo sloooow I cant keep up with my business. I have called them multiple times (OH, I can always upgrade again!) they reset my box from their magic seat in Istanbul or Iraq or ???
Now the fog comes = no internet
Rain = no internet
Snow = no internet
wind = no internet
President was on tv and = no internet!
Now, they told me when I signed up that I had a "30 day free trial" and that I could just cancel with "No problem" if I didn't like it. On day 28 I call them and say thats it - I hve had enough - unreliable, slooooow and/or no connection ALL THE TIME!
So the lady tells me to give them one more attempt. There is no real reason for what I am going through so it must be in the equipment they sent me. "just let us send out a service tech to fix your problem". OK I say, "But if this does not work I'm done with you" (remember this is day 28 of my 30 day trial). With-in three days the tech arrives. "I found the problem" "Installation error" "Dish is not set properly and can move when the wind blows".
Great. The tech leaves and with-in two days = no internet. So I call HughesNet back a say "Thats it, cancel my order". They tell me that I am PAST MY 30 DAYS so if I cancel I still must pay the two full years on my contract!
I tell the lady she is full of Bull and explained that I did cancel with-in 30 days and that THEY extended - not me. She was so rude and without a slight hesitation she said "Sir, if you no pay we turn you to collection agency! You will paid us!" (I love proper english).
So let me shorten this already too long of a story. They turned me into collections!
I fought back and they dropped it as "Un-collectable debt"
HughesNet = liars, thieves, scumbags, and unreliable poopy heads!
I now have Wild Blue, and although the speed is still very slow compared to cable it is at least tolerable and the techs speak english.
My big question is
we have sattelite TV and ZERO problems yet internet suks. Why?
