It is my understanding that many of the unemployed do not get hired because they do not pass the background check. It is my suggestion that the State of California EDD Office offer this service that is good for 6 months. The service would provide verification of Employment, Criminal Background, Skills verification, and Reference Checks. A lobbyist who frequents the California State Capitol is has placed an ad on craigslist. There is nothing nefarious about placing ads on craigslist and stating that you are a lobbyist. However this ad was placed in the Adult Gigs Section of the Sacramento craigslist. I would like to send my condolences to the loved ones of the young man killed in Oakland. Convincing as that officer may have been in court of his innocence, one thing remains true, that Oscar Grant is dead. The young man was defenseless. He could have been anyone.
