Another Domestic Terror Attack

Yesterday, a Northwest Airlines Flight from Amsterdam to Detroit carrying Umar Farouk aged 23 who is from Nigeria.

Umar Farouk ignited an explosive device as the plain was preparing for landing.

The crew and passengers subdued Umar Farouk.

Umar Farouk's name appeared in a US Database of persons with suspect connections.

I have the following question for our government;

1.  Did Umar Farouk have a visa ?

2.  If Umar Farouk did have a visa why was one issued to a person who is US Database of persons with suspect connections ?

3.  If Umar Farouk did not have a visa why was he allowed on a US bound plane ?

I have the following comments for our government and citizens;

1.  We are now going to have to pay for Umar Farouk's medical bills through our taxes.

2.  We are now going to have to pay for Umar Farouk's trial through our taxes.

3.  if found guilty we will have to pay for Umar Farouk incarnation in jail through our taxes.

I understand that the travel industry bring a lot of money into the US,  however some level of common sense needs to be used.  Where is Umar Farouk who is 23 and from Nigeria getting enough money for the plain trip,  hotels,  taxi,  meals ?

President Obama,  you have done a good job as President with exception of immigration and illegal immigration issues.

President Obama,  please stop all immigration to the US for a period of 10 years.

President Obama,  please deport all illegal immigrants.

A border is an imaginary line that exists to separate two spaces.  We've turned an imaginary line into an actual fence, but what exactly are we protecting ourselves from?  Terrorists?  Apparently the border issue makes little difference here since these people are still getting into the country.  If what we've done up to this point has failed, does it make any sense to continue down the same path or intensify the current failing efforts?

The solutions to this problem are many, yet politics continue to take the spotlight.  Want to stop pissing someone off who is avenging his/her people?  Stop attacking them.  The simplest of solutions is probably the best one in this case, yet the furthest from the minds of those in charge.

Our government is perpetrating this terror upon its people by involving themselves in issues that have nothing to do with us.  Why are we in Afghanistan changing their farming industry in the name of a drug war?  After thousands of years of farming poppy we finally think it's enough of a problem to sacrifice our young men and women?  It's enough of a problem to gather up tons of poppy harvest and waste hundreds of thousands of dollars air bombing the plant matter?  All in the process of destroying the livelihoods of hundreds of farmers, because one or two farmers supposedly say something about al-Qaeda (to some an imaginary terrorist group).  Has anyone stopped to think about the origin of this group?  I hardly think they are relying on drug money as a source of funding.

If you look at any of these issues you will find the real root of the problem, and it's not the terrorists.  It's our own government.  Our polticians are like bad parents who drive recklessly with their kids in the car, flipping people off and waving around a gun at everyone who gets in their way.  Eventually someone is going to take it the wrong way, and the kids will become a target of revenge for the parent's bad behavior.

Carlos;

I do not think that president Obama has the guts to close our borders.

I think th US should of cleared the plane of all passangers and luggage,  then placed Umar Farouk back on the plane handcuffed to his seat burns and all with out any medical treatment and returned him where he came from.
